I am so glad you are here.
I am a strengths-based, warm and affirming therapist.
I support highly sensitive parents, helpers, creatives and deep- feelers experiencing feelings of anxiety, perfectionism, and overwhelm as they evolve and adjust into new roles.
I help my clients recognize and embrace their innate personal strengths and encourage them to see new ways to approach challenging situations.
For close to 20 years, I've supported and guided parents and children in Texas in both the public and private sector. I began my career as Pre-K to Grade 5 special education teacher, Elementary Reading Specialist and Behavior Specialist in Houston, Texas.
I earned my dual undergraduate degrees from The University of Texas at Austin and my master's in professional counseling from the nationally recognized, CACREP accredited master's program at Texas State University Graduate School.
Upon earning my LPC, and Registered Play Therapist™ credential, I transitioned into professional school counseling, group practice and finally created my own private practice Clover and Bloom Counseling to support Texans with easy, accessible, compassionate online therapy.
Helping people feel seen, understood and valued for who they truly are brings me a sense of purpose and joy.
My clients describe me as warm, encouraging, calming and effective.
I am a compassionate, inclusive, trauma-informed, neurodiversity and LGBTQIA+ affirming therapist who strives to make each person feel welcome and valued for their unique values, personal history, gifts and strengths.
I run my private practice with cultural humility and a gentle, trauma-informed lens.
I believe each person is worthy of compassion and thrives with the right blend of support, insight and encouragement.
I support my clients with the help of research-based strategies from:
*Interpersonal Neurobiology
*Person Centered (Rogerian) Therapy
*Polyvagal Theory
*Mindfulness
*Self-Compassion
I offer compassion, insight, and guidance for people going through transitions, such as changing family dynamics, entering parenthood for the first or second time, welcoming new family members, experiencing increased anxiety or mood changes, and adjusting to the loss or rupture of important relationships.
A little bit about me: I am an INFP on the Myers-Briggs and an Enneagram 4. I consider myself both extroverted and introverted. While I love festivals and big events, I most often recharge my energy by spending time independently or with beloved friends and family.
In my free time you can find me listening to (arguably too many) audiobooks, taking interesting classes, admiring and making art, gardening, baking and being in nature with my two young children as much as possible.
I've found therapy to be illuminating, helpful and transformative. I feel honored to be a counselor so that I can help people on their journey to feeling more at home with themselves, feel more self-compassion, self-love, self-confidence and calm in their everyday lives.
Throughout our sessions together you can build insight into your personal strengths, recognize your accomplishments, bolster your self-confidence, set healthier boundaries and become more compassionate towards both yourself and others.
