I am so glad you are here.
I am a strengths-based and affirming therapist who supports individuals, couples, creatives, and caretakers as they evolve and adjust to new roles.
I help my clients recognize and embrace their innate personal strengths and encourage them to see new ways to approach challenging situations.
My clients describe me as calming, nurturing, compassionate, and effective.
My Experience:
I have over 15 years of experience supporting and guiding individuals, parents, and children in Texas.
I earned my undergraduate degrees from The University of Texas at Austin and my master's in professional counseling from the nationally recognized and CACREP-accredited masters program at Texas State University.
I am a licensed professional counselor (LPC),
registered play therapist (RPT ™), professional school counselor (PSC), perinatal mental health counselor, and former K-12 special educator in Texas.
I have a decade of experience supporting parents, teachers, and children in schools with emotional regulation, dyslexia, ASD, learning differences, anxiety, self-esteem, and ADHD.
I have advanced mental health training with Postpartum Support International (PSI), Policy Center for Maternal Mental Health (formerly known as 2020 MOM), Pregnancy and Postpartum Health Alliance of Texas (PPHA), The National Play Therapy Association, Child-Centered Play Therapy, Interpersonal Neurobiology, Trust Based Relational Intervention (TBRI), Conscious Discipline, Positive Discipline, Level 1 Gottman Training, and Bringing Home Baby Parent Preparation Course by The Gottman Institute.
I am a trauma-informed, LGBTQIA+ affirming, and inclusive therapist who strives to make each person feel welcome and valued for their unique gifts and strengths. I run my practice with cultural humility and a compassionate, gentle, trauma-informed lens.
I support my clients with Self-Compassion and Mindfulness. I am a member of the Austin area Kristi's List which helps new parents find counseling and support through the Pregnancy and Postpartum Health Alliance of Texas (PPHA). I help new Austin parents through the PPHA therapy voucher program.
I am proud to be an elected Executive Board Member for the community-based non-profit organization Partners in Parenting.
I guide new parents in finding support and community in the newborn and toddler stages. I volunteer my time facilitating new parent support groups and supporting the non-profit organization Partners in Parenting in Austin.
I offer compassion, insight, and guidance for people going through transitions, such as changing their identity or role in their family, leaving a workplace, entering parenthood, welcoming new family members, experiencing increased anxiety or mood changes, and adjusting to the loss of important relationships.
I believe each person is worthy of compassion and thrives with the right blend of support, insight, and encouragement.
Through our sessions together you can build insight into your personal strengths, recognize your accomplishments, and become more compassionate towards both yourself and others.
